Accountabilty

Accountability

At CrossFit 605, we provide multiple layers of accountability:

Group to Individual: Our classes are essentially workout appointments. You reserve your spot, letting the coach know you’ll be there.

Individual to Individual: Members hold each other accountable. We also check in on your progress and attendance.

Nutrition Accountability: We offer both individual coaching and group challenges to keep you on track with your eating habits.

Common Obstacles to Accountability

The usual suspects here are time constraints and a lack of prioritization. Sometimes, the sheer number of fitness options can paralyze people into inaction. But what does an accountability issue feel like? You might hear phrases like:

  • “I don’t have time.”

  • “I’ll start tomorrow.”

  • “I’m just not motivated.”

  • “I can do it on my own.”

  • “I don’t need help.”

These statements, while seemingly true on the surface (you might not feel like you have the time, for heaven’s sake!) often mask an underlying accountability issue. If you find yourself or others saying these things, it’s likely that accountability, not motivation or time, is the missing link. This brings us back to our own experience. We thought having a home gym would give us freedom and options, but it removed the accountability structures we needed to stay consistent.

If you’re feeling stuck, remember that accountability might be the missing puzzle piece. And if you’re not sure how to start, we are here to guide you. You don’t have to go it alone; accountability is a team sport.
